Summary of WorldFood Poland and ColdChain Poland 2022 : ColdChain

The biggest food&drink exhibition in Poland WorldFood Poland took place 5-7th April 2022 in EXPO XXI Warsaw. Eight edition of WorldFood Poland has integrated the whole industry in one place with great succes!

The exhibition organizers would like to inform that the last edition of WorldFood Poland despite current political situation has occured big succes gathering: 250 Exhibitors from 25 countries and 9 National Pavilions: Italy, Spain, Tunisia, South Korea, Ukraine, Mazovian District, Thailand, Greece, Sri Lanka. During three exhibition days 5 124 Visitors took part representing mainly: wholesale, food production, distribution, import, export and retail sales industries.

This edition of exhibition was focues on the greatest needs and challenges related to the agri-food situation in Poland. During the inaugural debate there was disccusion about the real impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on food security in Poland and Europe. The experts stated together that Poland is a safe area when it comes to food production, to be leading in food exports in Europe, but the consuments should be careful when it comes to price increases, which are inevitable in the current situation. The first two days of the show were filled by conferrences and debates with the presence with experts from polish institutions, associations and companies as well as international analyst representatives.

Besides conferences and debates that touched upon the current problems of the FMCG sector, WorldFood Poland is a wide overwiev the stands of many companies. During this year’s edition, visitors could see more than 250 booths of exhibitors from around the world, including the national pavilions of Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tunisia, Korea, Greece and the special sector Bellavita and Iberica with a wide range of food products and spirits from Italy and Spain. Despite the geopolitical situation, Ukrainian entrepreneurs were present at the fair. Also the culinary shows of the best chefs, as well as the Pizza Academy program were available on the Italy pavilion.

As every year, the Gold Medal Competition of the WorldFood Poland, in which the Jury tested as many as 153 products, was very popular. This year, the jury hosted decision-makers from retail chains: Mirosław Oleksiej from the Chorten Group, Justyna Rytel-Andrianik from Carrefour, Bartosz Peter from the Selgros chain, Renata Kazimierczak, an expert from the Institute of Human Nutrition Sciences of Warsaw University of Life Sciences and the President of the Association of Chefs and Confectioners Jarosław Uściński. Gold Medals was awarded to 10 products in various categories, and additionally 6 products were awarded a special prize.

During the WorldFood Poland fair, the VIP-Buyer program was successfully implemented, in which we connected buyers with Exhibitors via the online platform, and then arranged about 200 B2B meetings in a specially designated matchmaking zone.

The meetings were attended by buyers from Auchan, Carrefour, Biosklep, Barbora, NFTY catering and purchasing specialists from Vietnam and Romania.

On the last day of the fair, there was a food collection co-organized with the SOS Food Bank in Warsaw, thanks to that it was possible to collect as much as 700 kg of food products for the Ukrainain refugees. The organizers would like to thank the Exhibitors for joining this charity event.
